This is a reblog of Houston Business Journal’s article, “Houston-area execs named 2021 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Gulf Coast Awards finalists,” published June 8, 2021 by Chris Matthews.

The finalists from the Gulf Coast region, which EY announced June 7, hail from companies in energy, real estate, banking, health care, technology and other sectors. Once again, Houston-area executives account for a majority of the finalists — of the 19 finalists, 13 are based in the Houston metro region…

…The 2021 finalists were evaluated by EY based on six criteria: entrepreneurial leadership; talent management; degree of difficulty; financial performance; societal impact and building a values-based company; and originality, innovation and future plans.

"This year’s finalists are the next class in a long line of unstoppable visionaries," said Innocent Shumba, EY Private's western U.S. leader. "They have been carefully selected by our independent panel of judges for their unwavering commitment to their companies, customers and communities in a year of unprecedented change. We are thrilled to share their inspiring stories this year."
