Book showcases the power of harnessing organizational culture to prepare your business to successfully weather any challenge

HOUSTON – Nov. 28, 2022 – Velentium, a professional engineering firm that specializes in the design and manufacturing of therapeutic and diagnostic active medical devices, announced today Chief Executive Officer and Founder Dan Purvis is publishing a book entitled 28 Days to Save the World (Matt Holt Books, ISBN: 978-1637741900), available on December 6, 2022.

Co-authored with Velentium Sr. Marketing Strategist Jason Smith, 28 Days to Save the World was inspired by an unprecedented request Purvis and Velentium received during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic: Partner with a small medical device company and a large vehicle manufacturer to increase emergency ventilator production from hundreds per month to thousands per week, as rapidly as possible. At that time, public health officials believed that the United States alone needed 960,000 ventilators immediately, or thousands more Americans could die per day. Velentium’s share of the effort, which became known as “Project V”, entailed seven months’ worth of work—yet the company was able to deliver results in just 28 days.

Since Velentium’s inception a decade ago, I have invested heavily into developing and optimizing our organizational culture,” said Purvis. “When this time-sensitive, crucial engineering crisis came in during the peak of the COVID outbreak, our team was well-equipped to weather the storm together and make a seemingly impossible request a reality.”

Added Purvis, “After nearly 25 years working as an entrepreneur, I’ve had many trials and errors when it came to facing and responding to crises big and small. In 28 Days to Save the World I outline how leaders can effectively harness the power of their culture to prepare any organization to endure and embrace the challenges they face.”

Each quarter, more than 30 million small businesses face some sort of daunting crisis that can upend their business entirely, including issues related to management, strategic direction, cashflow and credit, staff and customers. 28 Days to Save the World outlines how a well-crafted culture can turn small business challenges into opportunities.

"The ventilator project was a game changer from a culture perspective."

"A fascinating story of achievement under remarkable circumstances."
